Meet Amanda: What Your First Visit to 65Beauty Is Really Like

Amanda is usually the first face you see when you walk into 65Beauty, and the last person you see before you leave. She has been on reception for a year and a half, and she has tried most of our treatments herself. We asked her what a first visit is really like.

Real interview, filmed with consent. No AI. Results vary from person to person.

A day on reception

No two days are the same, but Amanda's day revolves around patients: booking appointments, taking calls, making sure consent forms are filled in, booking follow-ups and keeping stock in order. And, she adds, looking after the team, usually with plenty of cups of tea. The best part of the job is meeting people, new and returning. Lots of patients know her by name, and she knows them.

If you're nervous about your first appointment

This is the question Amanda hears most from first-timers, and her answer is always the same: don't worry. Before anything is done, you'll be taken in for a consultation with the nurse, who explains everything and answers any concerns. Nothing happens until you're ready.

Your first visit, step by step

  1. Reception. Amanda welcomes you and helps you fill in your consent forms.
  2. Consultation. You go through to the consultation room, where the nurse talks everything through with you.
  3. Treatment. Only if you both agree it's right for you.
  4. Follow-up. Back at reception, Amanda books your follow-up appointment. She really is the first and last person you see.

What to do before your appointment

Read the pre-appointment advice we send you, and bring a list of any medicines you take. It's much easier than trying to remember them while you fill in the form.

The treatments she's tried herself

The one that surprised her most was the PCL under-eye booster, which she's also had around the lower face and neck, and would recommend for fine lines. She recently had her smile lines softened with filler by Sam, on camera, and says it felt like little more than a sting at first and looks really natural. The one she didn't enjoy? Dry cupping, and she's honest enough to say so.

Her advice to friends and family

Start small and build up slowly. You can always add more later, and that's how you keep a natural look. It's a theme across the whole clinic: nobody is pushed into anything. As our consent form says, sometimes the best treatment is no treatment.

Behind the scenes

What don't patients see? "Lots of laughs, lots of paperwork." Checking patient details, keeping records up to date, and a lot of compliance work that keeps everyone safe. Amanda describes the team as very funny, kind and very caring. And her favourite compliment from a patient? Someone who hadn't seen her for a while asked if she'd had a facelift.

Stay to the end of the video for the outtakes. It took a few goes to get her message to new patients right.

Results vary from person to person. Every treatment starts with a consultation with a registered clinician.
