Hollows under the eyes are one of the most common reasons people come to see us. They can make you look tired even after a good night's sleep. In this video you can watch a whole PCL under-eye booster treatment, start to finish, filmed at our Brentwood clinic, with Paul, our Clinical Director, asking the questions you would want to ask.
Real treatment, real voices, filmed with the patient's consent. No AI. Results vary from person to person.
The plan: mapping the hollows
Before anything is injected, the practitioner looks closely at two things: the hollowness itself, and the quality of the skin over it. Both matter. A hollow that sits under thin, crepey skin needs a different approach from one under thicker skin, so the plan is made for your face, not from a menu.
What is PCL?
PCL stands for polycaprolactone. It is the same material used in our PLLA & PCL thread lifts. In an under-eye booster it works as a bio-stimulator: it encourages your skin to make more of its own collagen over the following weeks.
That gives you two effects. There is a soft lift in the hollow straight away, which you can see in the video within seconds. Then, over the next few weeks, the skin gradually firms as your own collagen builds.
The treatment, step by step
- Numbing. The area is numbed first. Our patient described it as "really helpful", with just a little sting as the solution went in.
- A fine cannula. A cannula, a blunt-tipped tube, is used to spread the product evenly under the eye with fewer entry points.
- Instant lift. You can see the hollow lift as the product goes in.
- The second side. The same steps are repeated. The second side can feel a little more tender.
- The reveal. Sitting up, you can see how much fresher the under-eye area looks.
What to expect afterwards
- A little swelling at the entry points is normal and settles.
- The lift is visible straight away, and the skin keeps improving over the following weeks.
- Results typically last about a year.
- Results vary from person to person.
Not just under the eyes
PCL can also help fine, crepey skin elsewhere, for example on the neck, an area that often shows age early and is easy to forget.
Is it right for you?
Under-eye treatments are for adults aged 18 and over. Everyone has a consultation first, so we can check your skin, your medical history and what you would like to achieve, and give you an honest view of what is realistic. If it isn't the right treatment for you, we will say so.
