Microneedling in Brentwood: Nurse Bina Explains How It Rejuvenates Skin

1 October 2026 · 3 min read

Microneedling is one of the treatments we are asked about most for tired-looking skin. In this article, Bina, one of the nurses at 65Beauty, explains how microneedling works, why we pair it with a skin-booster serum, and what to expect during and after a course of treatment.

This video uses an AI-generated version of Bina's voice and likeness, made with her consent. The treatment footage is real and used with consent.

How microneedling works

Bina explains it simply. A medical-grade pen creates thousands of tiny micro-channels in the skin. That triggers your skin's natural healing response and stimulates new collagen.

Collagen is one of the proteins that helps keep skin firm and smooth, and our natural production slows as we get older. Microneedling works with your own healing process rather than adding anything artificial to the skin's structure, which is why changes tend to be gradual.

The depth and settings are chosen by your practitioner for your skin and the area being treated.

Why we pair it with a skin-booster serum

At 65Beauty, we then work a skin-booster serum into those micro-channels during treatment. The channels are temporary, and using them to deliver a serum into the skin is part of how we approach skin rejuvenation.

Your practitioner will explain which serum they plan to use and why, and will check for any allergies or sensitivities before treatment.

What it can help with

As Bina says in the video, microneedling can help with:

  • Texture: skin that feels uneven or rough
  • Fine lines: early lines on the face
  • Dullness: skin that looks tired or lacks radiance

Results build over a course rather than after a single session, and results vary from person to person. Microneedling is not right for everyone. For example, it may not be suitable if you have active acne, a skin infection, certain skin conditions or are taking particular medicines. Your practitioner will check suitability at a consultation. Treatment is for adults aged 18 and over.

What happens at your appointment

Your first visit begins with a face-to-face consultation with one of our nurses. Your practitioner will:

  • Ask about your skin concerns and what you would like to improve
  • Look closely at your skin and talk through your skincare routine
  • Review your medical history, medicines and any allergies
  • Explain whether microneedling suits you, how many sessions might be recommended and what to expect

If you go ahead, the skin is cleansed and the pen is moved across the treatment area in a methodical way. Many people describe a light scratching or vibrating sensation. The skin-booster serum is worked in during the treatment.

After your treatment

Bina is honest about this: expect some redness for a day or two. Your skin may also feel warm, tight or slightly sensitive, a little like mild sunburn. This is a normal part of the healing response and usually settles without fuss.

Your practitioner will talk you through aftercare before you leave. General advice often includes keeping the skin clean, avoiding make-up for a short time, avoiding heat, saunas and heavy exercise for 24 to 48 hours, and protecting your skin from the sun with a high-factor sunscreen. If anything concerns you, please contact the clinic.
