Just had cheek, jaw or chin filler? Here is how to look after your skin while the filler settles, what is normal, and the few signs that need a call straight away.
In the video, Sam, one of our practitioners, talks you through it. Everything she covers is written out below so you can come back to it.
Your aftercare, step by step
First 24 hours
Some swelling, tenderness and bruising are normal. Use a cold compress wrapped in a clean cloth for 10 minutes at a time. No make-up on the injection points for 12 hours. Avoid alcohol, exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and sunbeds. Don't press, rub or massage the area unless we asked you to.
Days 2 to 3
Swelling usually peaks around day 2. Sleep on your back with your head slightly raised for the first two nights. Avoid resting your face in your hand or sleeping face-down.
Week 1 to 2
The area can feel firm or slightly uneven while the filler settles: this is normal. Avoid facials, face massage, microneedling, laser and dental treatment for two weeks. If you wear glasses that rest on treated cheeks, wear them lightly.
Day 14
The final result shows at around two weeks, once swelling has gone.
Your review
If we booked a review, it is at around two weeks so we can check balance and any top-up together.
