Feeling a little nervous before your first appointment is completely normal. In this post, Amanda from our reception team, usually the first face you will see when you arrive, explains what happens on your first visit to 65Beauty and why every treatment starts with a consultation.
This video uses an AI-generated version of Amanda's voice and likeness, made with her consent. The clinic footage is real and filmed with consent.
A friendly face on Kings Road
Amanda works on our reception team at 39 Kings Road, Brentwood. She is not a nurse or practitioner, but she is very often the person who greets you, checks you in and makes sure you feel settled before your appointment.
Her message for anyone feeling anxious is simple: if you are nervous about your first visit, please don't be. The video gives you a short look around the clinic, so you can see where you will be before you arrive.
Why every treatment starts with a consultation
At 65Beauty, no treatment goes ahead without a consultation first. This is a face-to-face appointment with one of our nurses, and its purpose is to make sure any treatment is safe, suitable and right for you.
As Amanda explains, the consultation covers three main areas:
- Your medical history. Including any conditions, medications, allergies or previous treatments.
- Your lifestyle. Things like your work, exercise, skincare routine and any upcoming events that might affect timing.
- What you would like to achieve. Your goals and any concerns, so your nurse can understand what matters to you.
What happens during the consultation
Your nurse will listen first. They will ask questions, look at the area you are interested in and explain which options may suit you, along with what each one involves and what recovery usually looks like.
They will also be honest if a treatment is not right for you. Some treatments are not suitable for everyone, and sometimes the best advice is to wait, try a different approach or do nothing at all. Your practitioner will check suitability at a consultation before anything is booked.
No pressure at all
Amanda is clear on this point: there is no pressure at all. You do not have to decide on the day. Many people like to go home, think things over and come back with more questions, and that is absolutely fine.
Everyone is different, and results vary. A good consultation should leave you with realistic expectations and the information you need to make your own decision.
Getting ready for your first visit
A few simple things can help your first appointment go smoothly:
- Allow a little extra time to arrive and settle in.
- Bring a list of any medications or supplements you take.
- Write down any questions you would like to ask.
- Let us know if you have any medical conditions or previous treatments we should be aware of.
If you are unsure about anything before your visit, our reception team is happy to help.
