Thinking about anti-wrinkle treatment for your forehead lines, but not sure what the appointment actually involves? You are not alone. In this article Bina, one of the nurses at 65Beauty, walks you through it step by step, from the consultation to the days afterwards, so you know exactly what to expect before you book.
Bina appears in real video filmed at our clinic; her voice in this video is AI-generated and lip-synced, made with her consent. The treatment footage is real and filmed with consent.
Why forehead lines form
Forehead lines are the horizontal creases that appear when you raise your eyebrows. The muscle responsible lifts your brows every time you look surprised, chat animatedly or try to keep your eyes open when you are tired. Over the years, and as skin naturally loses some of its elasticity, those creases can start to stay put even when your face is relaxed. They are a normal part of having an expressive face, and treating them is entirely your choice.
Step one: a consultation first
As Bina says in the video, everything starts with a consultation. This is where we talk about what bothers you, go through your medical history and any medicines you take, and check that treatment is suitable. It is also your chance to ask questions. If anti-wrinkle treatment is not the right option for you, we will tell you honestly.
Step two: cleanse and muscle mapping
Next, your skin is cleansed. Then the muscles are mapped. Your practitioner will ask you to raise your eyebrows and relax a few times, watching how your forehead moves. The forehead muscle works closely with the muscles between the brows, so getting the balance right matters. Mapping helps your practitioner plan where small amounts should go, so the result looks natural and your brows sit comfortably.
Step three: the injections
This is the part most people worry about, and it is usually the quickest. The injections are tiny, made with a very fine needle, and the whole thing is over in a few minutes. As Bina jokes in the video, the cleanse often takes longer. Most people describe a small pinch rather than anything painful.
Afterwards: be patient
Anti-wrinkle treatment does not work instantly. Results build gradually over the next week or two, so try not to judge it on day one. Small marks or slight redness at the injection points usually fade quickly. Your practitioner will give you aftercare advice, such as avoiding rubbing the area for the rest of the day, and will explain any possible side effects. Results vary from person to person, and if anything concerns you after your appointment, just get in touch.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the appointment take?
The injections only take a few minutes, but allow time for your consultation, cleanse and mapping. We will give you a timeframe when you book.
Can I go back to work afterwards?
Most people carry on with their day. Your practitioner will talk you through aftercare and anything to avoid for the first few hours.
Will my forehead look frozen?
The aim is a softer, natural look, not a face that cannot move. Your treatment plan is tailored to you and agreed at your consultation.
Who should not have this treatment?
Anti-wrinkle treatment is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with certain medical conditions. We check this carefully at your consultation.
