Just had microneedling? Your skin will look like mild sunburn today. Here is how to help it heal well and get the most from the treatment.
In the video, Sam, one of our practitioners, talks you through it. Everything she covers is written out below so you can come back to it.
Your aftercare, step by step
First 24 hours
Expect redness, tightness and a warm, sunburnt feeling. No make-up, sweating, swimming or touching your face. Cleanse with cool water only tonight and apply only the product we gave you or a plain, fragrance-free moisturiser. Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
Days 2 to 5
Mild flaking and dryness are normal: don't pick or scrub. Use a gentle cleanser, a bland moisturiser and SPF 50 every day. No retinol, acids, exfoliants, self-tan, waxing or sunbeds for 7 days.
Week 1 to 2
Your skin should look calm by day 5 to 7. Avoid strong sun exposure for two weeks.
Results
Texture, scars and pores improve over four to six weeks as new collagen forms. A course of sessions about four weeks apart gives the best result.
