Just had a thread lift? Threads need a few weeks to anchor and for collagen to build around them. Following these steps protects your result.
In the video, Umesh, Medical Director at 65 Medical, talks you through it. Everything he covers is written out below so you can come back to it.
Your aftercare, step by step
First 48 hours
Sleep on your back with your head raised on two pillows. Use a cold compress for 10 minutes at a time. Soft foods only, and avoid opening your mouth wide (big yawns, large sandwiches, dental visits). Don't touch, rub or massage your face. Paracetamol helps with tenderness.
First week
No exercise, saunas, steam rooms, swimming, alcohol or sunbeds. Wash and apply skincare very gently, with upward strokes. Avoid make-up on the entry points for 24 hours. Some tightness, small dimples, puckering or asymmetry are normal while the threads settle.
Weeks 2 to 4
Gentle exercise and normal skincare can return. Avoid facials, face massage, microneedling, radiofrequency and dental work for four weeks.
Weeks 4 to 12
The lift settles and collagen keeps building around the threads for up to three months.
