What is CQC Umbrella Cover?

Our CQC umbrella service allows your clinic to operate as a Satellite Location under 65Medical Limited’s CQC registration, while we support you in preparing and submitting your own independent CQC application.

 

This model is designed as a compliance bridge, allowing you to trade safely and legally while ensuring that governance, documentation, and leadership meet CQC expectations from day one.

Who This Service is For

This service is suitable for clinics that:

 

  • Are introducing regulated medical activities

  • All Nurses or medically registered professionals currently performing PRP, IV Drips, certain Anti-wrinkle treatments, threads and more.

  • Have a strong clinical or aesthetic setup but lack CQC-ready governance

  • Want to avoid delays while waiting for their own CQC registration

  • Need structured support to pass inspection and interviews

What's Included

1. Umbrella CQC Registration Services

  • Your clinic added as a Satellite Location (subject to scope alignment, and interviews by our Clinical Director)

  • Management and submission of all CQC Notifications (incidents, safeguarding, service changes)

  • Liaison with CQC as the registered provider for regulated activities

 

 

2. Onboarding & Baseline Compliance

We carry out a full on-site compliance audit and risk assessment, covering:

  • Fire safety and statutory compliance

  • Electrical and equipment safety

  • Infection prevention and control

  • Environmental and room-by-room compliance

  • Governance systems, logs, and registers

  • Staff documentation and training evidence

 

 

We then provide clinic-specific policies and SOPs, aligned to the CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-Led).

Important:

Generic portal-downloaded policies are not sufficient for CQC inspection.

CQC expects policies to be written following a real risk assessment of your clinic, your treatments, your layout, and your staffing model. Policies that do not reflect actual practice are routinely failed at inspection.

3. Ongoing Compliance Oversight

  • Mandatory quarterly CQC compliance audits

  • Ad-hoc spot checks (with reasonable notice)

  • Monitoring of training, competencies, and staff files

  • Policy and SOP updates as guidance changes

  • Review of marketing and advertising for CQC and ASA compliance

4. Support for Your Own CQC Registration

  • Guidance preparing your independent CQC application

  • Review of supporting evidence

  • Mock CQC interviews for Registered / Responsible Managers

  • Support through to your registration decision

Acceptance of a CQC application does not guarantee success.

Inspection outcomes depend on governance, documentation, and the Registered Manager’s knowledge.

The Registered / Responsible Manager – What CQC Really Tests

A non-clinical Registered Manager can be accepted by CQC, but inspections and interviews heavily test:

 

  • Clinical risk management

  • Incident reporting and escalation

  • Safeguarding thresholds and referrals

  • Consent, capacity, and record-keeping

  • Medicines and prescribing pathways (if applicable)

  • Infection control audits and learning

  • Staff competency and supervision

  • Leadership and governance oversight

 

 

We include mock CQC interviews within the umbrella service to ensure your manager can confidently evidence compliance.

 

Optional (chargeable):

1-to-1 Registered Manager coaching and clinic-specific governance training.

Typical Onboarding Requirements 

To place a clinic safely under our umbrella, we typically require:

Premises & Safety

  • Fire Risk Assessment and servicing records

  • Electrical installation condition report (EICR)

  • PAT testing (where applicable)

  • Waste and sharps contracts

  • Cleaning schedules and IPC audits

 

​

Governance

  • Fit-for-purpose policies and SOPs

  • Complaints handling process and signage

  • Incident and safeguarding logs

  • Audit and quality improvement evidence

​

 

Personnel (examples)

  • Right to work and ID

  • DBS (role-appropriate)

  • CVs and references

  • GMC / NMC / GDC registration (where applicable)

  • Indemnity certificates

  • Mandatory training records

  • Competency assessments and supervision logs

 

 

This applies to all staff, including reception, admin, nurses, doctors, and surgeons.

If any of the above requirements are missing, these are produced under our onboarding processes.

Pricing

Onboarding Services:

£2,000 + VAT (one-off)

 

Ongoing Umbrella Fee:

£995 + VAT per quarter (paid quarterly in advance)
